Alone

Happiness, my only true friendIs goneDust has become my homeNo family do I receiveNo love do I perceiveA web of thoughtsMy mind must weave
Mechanized colors spinShapes do form my eyes withinI’m scared and lonelyYet I grin
Naked to the air of heatMusic enhances my mindViolins breathe a milky web of sightSwirling starsTunnel of lightEmbracing the sun
Eyes shut tightSweat soaked, dream of hellsI can’t stop racing

The Origin Story: This poem was written back in my Lost years when I was a teenager. I was always particularly proud of the prose and turn of phase in this one. It is somewhat of an amalgamation of Yoda, William Blake, Jim Morrison, and Lewis Carroll.
