Dance

Oh flitter breezeThe endless summer dayFlowers and trees lazily swayLaughing thighs moist with dewFires of passion smolderChoking birds with fumes…Can’t flyThe moon creeps a gentle sighDreams won’t leave me aloneI cannot escapeNever go homeI weep for peersAnd lost yearsGaining only fearsI long for loveAnd warm summer nightsRain-soaked locks of curlsFeel my breath of color swirlsDraw in sheep for Dragon girlsWho reek from erotic swaysIn past and forgotten days

The Origin Story: This is from a period in my life where I was dealing with a messy divorce (at far too young of an age) and no direction in career-wise. I turned to poetry when I was not out carousing with my friends. The poems from this period are more purposefully existential in nature. They also leaned heavily on Jim Morrison and Arthur Rimbaud.
