Darkened Fears

As I give in to darkened fearsI see my life through salty tearsDistorting facesMyopic viewPervade my thoughtsSince I was bornLike the dawn of brilliant morn
As I give in to darkened fearsI sense the sound of taunting jeersBeg forgiveness of thyselfBelieving that I have no wealth…Or worthIn this, heart so forlornLike the dawn of brilliant morn
I see my life through salty tearsMy eyes softly hinting fearsWindows to my precious soulPortions which our passion stoleA love that I bid cajoleWhich you persist to cruelly scornLike the dawn of brilliant morn
Distorted facesEnhancing chillsBeckoning to distant hillsWhere I alone must face these fiendsOf subliminal chaotic scenes
Myopic viewsGraceless museSavage unrelenting hateMerely I, who I castrateCraving just to cease this pain
Pervade my thoughtsThese troubled dreamsReveries that flow like streamsMake me see things all askewThings I know just can’t be trueI implore withdrawal of,This elusive and deceitful formLike the dawn of brilliant morn
Since I was bornMy heart’s been tornBy raging tormentWretched tongueEvoke mystic psalms unsungFrom deep within my tortured soulAngelic essence hath been shornLike the dawn of brilliant morn
Like the dawn of brilliant mornA tender mist of graceful loveInspires compassion from aboveReflections of my timelessnessAll things of, which I perceiveAre labyrinths of arcane tiersAs I give in to darkened fears

The Origin Story: This is from a period in my life where I was dealing with a messy divorce (at far too young of an age) and no direction in career-wise. I turned to poetry when I was not out carousing with my friends. This particular poem is one of my favorites. After the first stanza, I used each line to begin the proceeding stanzas. I thought it was rather clever at the time. The secret about my poems is that they do not take me very long to write. Most of the ones posted on this site are first drafts that took a few minutes to write.
