Has the world gone mad? Has it always been so? Are we born with hate or is it taught? Are we born with greed or are we bought? I don’t recall feelings like this When I was a young boy in playful bliss Has the world gone mad? Has it always been so?

The Origin Story: This poem is one of many where I question reality and the world. Since 9/11 the cynicism of Americans, in general, was overwhelming. No one cared about the value of human life unless it is their own. Further to that was the acquiescence to an increasing surveillance police state. At one point I had to ask, "Has the world gone mad?"
